Kandi Lightner, designer of Kaiya Eve Couture, got her start by making skirts from vintage pettiskirts. As she and her creations gained popularity, Kandi has been able to grow her business in approximately the past three years with the fluffly chiffon pettiskirt that you see today. Kaiya Eve manufactures their own pettiskirts in Los Angeles, California.

Not to be confused with other brands, these pettiskirts feature fine details, including handmade embellishments and custom ribbons. Oopsy Daisy Baby, inc. also provides pettiskirts for dolls, which can be customized to match a little girl's skirt. Oopsy Daisy Baby manufactures their own pettiskirts and apparel inside and outside the USA.
About Belle Ame Pettiskirts
Oopsy Daisy Baby pettiskirts are made of nylon chiffon and have a few styles that have a top layer of crinoline. They feature pettiskirts from sizes newborn to women's 6/8. Belle Ame offers a very wide variety of colors and color combinations. Their pettiskirts are manufactured in the USA and imported.
ARE ALL PETTISKIRTS MADE BY THE SAME MANUFACTURER? NO, no and no. Pettiskirts are NOT all made by the same manufacturer and are not all the same, as some individuals claim. As noted above, Kaiya Eve and Oopsy Daisy Baby both have their own manufacturing houses.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KAIYA EVE PETTISKIRTS, OOPSY DAISY BABY PETTISKIRTS AND BELLE AME PETTISKIRTS?First, lets start with the similarities. All brands of pettiskirts are made of very soft 100% nylon chiffon, with the exception of a few Belle Ame styles which have a top layer of crinoline, instead of chiffon. All fit approximately the same regarding sizing. For example, the size 2-4 in Oopsy Daisy Baby will fit most children between the ages of 2 and 4 years, as does Kaiya Eve, etc.
Kaiya Eve pettiskirts have a solid color double-sided ribbon bow, while Oopsy Daisy Baby offers a single-sided ribbon bow with some styles having a printed custom bow. Belle Ame pettiskirts have a single-sided ribbon.
The waistband of Oopsy Daisy Baby is adjustable with the ability to make it 2 inches tighter. The Oopsy Daisy Baby waist fits a bit snugger than Kaiya Eve's. All three brand of pettiskirts, due to the weight, will settle on the hips. Kaiya Eve pettiskirts appear to stretch a little farther than the other 2 brands.
Oopsy Daisy Baby pettiskirts and Belle Ame pettiskirts have a nylon waist, while Kaiya Eve pettiskirts have a satin nylon waist. Therefore, pairing pettiskirts from different brands will only look similar if you mix Oopsy Daisy Baby and Belle Ame. This may or may not be important in your decisions when making your purchase.

Personally, I wash my daugther's pettiskirts by themselves on the "Hand Wash" cycle, then hang dry or lay them out on top of the wash machine, flipping it after 12 hours. DO NOT HANG PETTISKIRTS IN THE SUN TO DRY. They could become sun bleached, losing their color.
SHOULD I STEAM OR IRON MY PETTISKIRT? When you take your pettiskirt out of it's gift box, give it a few good shakes to loosen up the chiffon and get it fluffed up. You may lightly steam your pettiskirts and ruffle fluff tops. Pettiskirts take about 5 minutes to steam out any wrinkles. You will see the fullness increase greatly. Kaiya Eve ruffle fluff tops will look fablulous if you run a steamer over the fluff, then quickly rub your hand up & down the top, fluffing up the chiffon ruffles.
